Drama Festivals
This year’s Phoenix offering “Words, Words, Words” by David Ives is a funny yet thought provoking 3-hander, directed by Fraser Norton. The plot centres around 3 monkeys in an observation laboratory trying to prove the theory that 3 monkeys typing into infinity will eventually produce “Hamlet”. We performed at the Didcot Festival, Abingdon (ODN) Festival & Wallingford Festival. Congratulations to Andrew Down who picked up the Best Actor Award at the Didcot Festival & the whole team for winning the Adjudicators prize at Wallingford.

Unfortunately we were unable to find enough people to make the journey to Shropshire this year for the comedy festival - hopefully we will be able to do something next year.

PANTOMIME: Cinders: The True Story
by David Tristram
Rehearsals start this month for the next Phoenix Pantomime “Cinders: The True Story” which is a reworking of the classic Cinderella tale by one of the masters of the modern day comedy, David Tristram. The script is extremely funny and should prove to be a lot of fun to rehearse. We are very excited to be performing it back at our old venue The Didcot Civic Hall fresh from it’s make-over and look forward to seeing you all there. So put the dates in your diary now.
20 & 21 January 2012
